I made a 1941 Soviet Army Bar with no baking—a dense, 500+ calorie survival-style oat bar inspired by wartime pantry cooking. No oven, simple ingredients, and easy portions for the road.
In this video, I make a no-bake Soviet Army survival bar inspired by 1941 wartime food. It is packed with rolled oats, walnuts, almonds, honey, butter, raisins, orange zest, cinnamon, and two kinds of chocolate.
One batch makes 12 dense energy bars with over 500 calories per bar. They are perfect for hiking, camping, long road trips, emergency food bags, or keeping a quick high-energy snack in your pantry.
No oven. No baking. Just a stovetop, a bowl, and a few simple ingredients.
METHOD:
Toast the rolled oats on low heat for 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Melt the butter, lower the heat, then stir in honey and cinnamon. Combine everything, let the mixture rest for 30 minutes, press it firmly into a lined container, and chill for 3–4 hours. Cut into 12 bars and wrap each one in parchment paper and foil.
This is a modern survival-style recreation inspired by wartime pantry cooking, not a verified official Soviet Army ration.
