Human Judgement On Autopilot Throughout History | Serdzan Arnautovic | TEDxSarajevo
This talk explores how humans have repeatedly outsourced judgment to systems, rules, machines, and now AI, often gaining speed and efficiency while losing reflection, accountability, and moral responsibility. From industrialization and bureaucracy to automated hiring and algorithmic decision-making, it argues that the real danger of “singularity” is not simply machines surpassing humans, but humans stopping the practice of judgment itself. Through historical and modern examples, the talk makes the case that technology should amplify human decision-making, not replace it, and that empathy, context, critical thinking, and responsibility must remain at the center of any human–machine collaboration.
