Crude crossed $100 and the Nifty gave up another 200 points, closing below 23,500 at the lowest level of the day. The trigger was not a domestic one. Overnight, the US struck Iranian oil tankers near Kharg Island, and Iran responded by declaring a no-go zone across a large part of the Persian Gulf.In this video I break down exactly what changed in the last 24 hours, why the US has shifted from hitting Iran's military to hitting Iran's oil income, and how a shipping threat translates into a falling Nifty. We also look at the fresh crude projections from Goldman Sachs and HSBC, both of whom now see $120 as the escalation target, and what would have to happen for the supply-shock case to go live.
