Nel dopoguerra, nel 1948 si tenne un Congresso d'Europa che riunì le menti più brillanti del continente per riflettere sul futuro della cooperazione europea. Per alimentare questa nostra idea europea, noi, come società, dobbiamo riscoprire la capacità di pensare all'Europa. Il prossimo anno celebreremo lo storico 70esimo anniversario del Trattato di Roma. In questa occasione, annuncio oggi che daremo vita a un nuovo Congresso d'Europa. Riunire pensatori e scrittori, artisti e scienziati, cittadini e società civile". Lo ha detto la Presidente della Commissione europea Ursula von der Leyen al discorso sullo Stato dell'Unione in Plenaria a Strasburgo.Ebs
