Insiden tragis ini menyebabkan 37 orang tewas, 5 orang masih hilang, dan 11 penumpang berhasil diselamatkan.
Kapal bernama QN-7105 itu milik warga Doan Van Trinh dari Provinsi Quang Ninh.
Saat kejadian, kapal Kapal itu dikemudikan oleh kapten Doan Van Trinh dan mengangkut 48 penumpang, termasuk 20 anak-anak dari Hanoi.
Badai datang tiba-tiba dengan hujan es, petir, dan angin kencang sekitar pukul 14.00 siang waktu setempat.
Diketahui, kapal wisata dengan 5 awak itu terbalik saat mengunjungi situs Warisan Dunia UNESCO di Teluk Ha Long.
Hingga akhirnya dilaporkan terbalik saat berada sekitar 3 mil dari daratan antara Hon Ga dan Gunung Bai Tho.
Seorang korban selamat menceritakan berhasil berenang menyelamatkan diri sebelum diselamatkan tentara.
Pemerintah memerintahkan pencarian dan penyelamatan segera oleh aparat militer.
Otoritas juga berjanji menyelidiki penyebab kecelakaan dan menindak tegas pihak yang bertanggung jawab.
