Suspect opens fire near White House, Secret Service responds
New details are emerging after reports of gunfire near the White House in Washington, DC.According to eyewitnesses and US media reports, a suspect allegedly opened fire near a Secret Service security perimeter at the intersection of 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, close to the White House complex.
Secret Service agents reportedly returned fire in a rapid exchange involving dozens of shots. Emergency crews responded quickly and at least one ambulance was seen leaving the scene.
Officials have not yet released details about the suspect’s condition or identity, while authorities continue to investigate the incident and maintain a heavy security presence around the White House.
