A deadly hantavirus outbreak aboard the Dutch-flagged cruise ship MV Hondius has triggered a global health response after passengers from the United States and France tested positive following evacuation from Spain's Canary Islands. The outbreak has already claimed three lives and prompted countries including Britain, Australia, Greece and France to begin quarantine, contact tracing and monitoring operations.
