While each player's individual performances were previously published independently, here's a look at what this particularly round robin endeavor looked like as a collective. It was all a part of a broader, season-long NBA Slam Dunk Competition that predates the canonized start of the NBA Slam Dunk Contest history by seven years.

In the 1976-77 version, the CBS Game of the Week would often feature a pre-record head-to-head slam dunk battle at half time, with the winner moving on in a bracket style format, culminating in a slam dunk championship held at halftime of the NBA Finals. The winner is actually featured in the video above. Darnell Hillman, aka Dr. Dunk, outlasted Larry McNeill to take home the $15,000 prize.
