10 Jahre OEZ-Anschlag: Chaos, Phantom-Tatorte und der Kampf um Erinnerung | BR24 vor Ort
Am 22. Juli 2016 tötet ein junger Mann aus rassistischen Motiven neun Menschen am Olympia-Einkaufszentrum in München. Die sonst so geordnete Stadt gerät in Panik. Rund 70 Tatorte werden gemeldet, doch nur am OEZ hat der Attentäter geschossen. Die Lage in der Nacht des Anschlags ist unübersichtlich und chaotisch, Falschinformationen und Gerüchte verbreiten sich rasant – auch über Social Media.Zehn Jahre später kämpfen die Familien noch immer für die Aufarbeitung und ein würdiges Gedenken. Sie organisieren eigene Gedenkformate wie ein Fußballturnier in München-Moosach und fordern, dass die Namen der neun Ermordeten, der "neun Engel" nicht vergessen werden.
10 Jahre nach dem OEZ-Anschlag und der Nacht der Angst in München haben Einsatzkräfte neue Strukturen aufgebaut: Das "Virtual Operations Support Team" (VOST) der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr durchsucht bei Großlagen soziale Netzwerke, prüft Bilder und Videos, erkennt Fehlinformationen und soll helfen, Panik zu vermeiden und Phantomtatorte zu erkennen.
