Wali Kota Yogyakarta, Hasto Wardoyo, menyebut para kepala daerah yang merupakan kader PDIP dan diagendakan menjadi peserta retreat di Akademi Militer Magelang berkumpul di Kantor DPP PDIP DIY, Kota Yogyakarta.Hal tersebut dilakukan sebagai buntut instruksi Megawati Soekarnoputri yang meminta kepala daerah dari PDIP menunda keberangkatan ke retreat di Akmil Magelang.
Sementara itu, Gubernur Sumatera Utara, Bobby Nasution, sempat berkomentar tentang kemungkinan sejumlah kepala daerah tidak ikut retreat.
