JAWA TIMUR, KOMPAS.TV - Gelombang tinggi disertai angin kencang menerjang permukiman di Dusun Landangan, Kecamatan Kapongan, Situbondo, Jawa Timur.

Dua rumah rusak cukup parah akibat dihantam ombak yang mencapai ketinggian dua meter.

Kerusakan terjadi di bagian dapur dan kamar belakang.

Dinding rumah ambrol, sementara fondasi mulai retak akibat abrasi yang semakin parah.

Sebelumnya, ombak merusak tanggul penangkis buatan warga berupa tanggul sederhana dari karung pasir yang menjadi pertahanan dari gempuran ombak.

Menurut Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG), kondisi cuaca ekstrem diperkirakan masih akan berlangsung hingga tiga hari ke depan. BPBD Situbondo telah meninjau lokasi dan mendata kerusakan yang terjadi.
