Ma le sue critiche si estendono anche all’agenda green, al ruolo della Presidente von der Leyen e ai limiti di un’Unione Europea che — a suo dire — ha smarrito la bussola della trasparenza e del buon senso.
Rinaldi non usa mezzi termini nel definire “surreale” l’accesso ai contratti tra Commissione UE e aziende farmaceutiche durante la pandemia. “Pensate che quando ero a Bruxelles diedero la possibilità di visionare per un numero limitatissimo di minuti, in una stanza chiusa senza portare telefonini, questi benedetti contratti con le big pharma”, racconta. “C’erano 100.000 omissis, praticamente era tutto cancellato”. Il riferimento è diretto all’affaire von der Leyen-#Pfizer e agli sms scomparsi che avrebbero preceduto l’accordo multimiliardario sui vaccini. Un episodio che, secondo l’ex europarlamentare, tradisce ogni principio di accountability istituzionale. “Alla faccia della trasparenza”, chiosa con amarezza.
