Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations continue in the Twin Cities one week after the fatal shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis. An ICE agent was seen spraying a chemical irritant directly in a woman’s face as federal agents clashed with citizen protesters in Mankato, Minnesota. Footage filmed by Ava Corey-Gruenes shows a masked ICE agent getting out of a car and telling protesters to move from in front of the vehicle.
Meanwhile, ICE agents were seen tossing tear gas cannisters into a crowd of protesters in a south Minneapolis neighborhood. Video from Jon Farina of Status Coup News shows protesters reacting to the tear gas.
Some Minneapolis residents are confronting the federal agents. Footage from John Sullivan shows w protester was then pinned to the ground during the confrontation, before being walked away by the officers.
Footage filmed by Daniel Wilder shows a tense scene in the Powderhorn neighborhood in Minneapolis. Protesters blew whistles and chanted, “ICE out now!”
Meanwhile, an ICE agent was seen shoving Minneapolis City Council President Elliott Payne during a clash with protesters in northeast Minneapolis. Video by Minneapolis City Council Member Jason Chavez shows an officer wearing an Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) uniform pushing Payne, as well as another protester, on a public sidewalk.
And a group of federal agents were forced out of a Mexican restaurant in St Paul, Minnesota. Footage filmed by Aldora Gutierrez, shows four ICE agents walking through the dining area and then leaving after people shout at them.
