Terkait hal itu, Wakil Presiden ke-10 dan ke-12 Jusuf Kalla buka suara.
JK menilai aksi demo Senin lalu adalah bentuk aspirasi masyarakat.
Menurutnya setiap masyarakat berhak untuk menyuarakan aspirasi mereka tentang nasib masa depan Indonesia kelak.
Sementara itu, terkait para pelajar sekolah menengah atas (SMA) yang ikut-ikutan demonstrasi, JK mengaku tidak mengetahui hal tersebut karena sedang berada di luar negeri.
Seperti diketahui, demo bertajuk "Revolusi Rakyat Indonesia" terdiri dari pejar, mahasiswa hingga masyarakat umum.
Unjuk rasa tersebut berujung bentrok dengan aparat kepolisian dan TNI yang bersiaga.
Adapun aksi ini digelar untuk memprotes kebijakan pemerintah dan DPR.
Salah satunya terkait wacana kenaikan tunjangan anggota dewan di tengah kondisi ekonomi yang sulit.
Sejak pagi, massa sudah berkumpul di depan gerbang DPR membawa poster protes bertuliskan “Bubarkan DPR beban negara” serta bendera Merah Putih dan simbol tengkorak ala serial One Piece.
Sebagai informasi, demo di DPR kembali akan kembali digelar pada Kamis (28/8).
Kali ini demo digelar kelompok buruh untuk menuntut kenaikan upah minimum 2026 sebesar 8,5 persen hingga 10,5 persen hingga penghapusan sistem outsourcing.
Polda Metro Jaya bakal mengerahkan 4.531 personel gabungan guna mengamankan aksi unjuk rasa Kamis.
