She Studied Law Now She Sells Street Food in Iran
Explore the incredible street food of Iran inside Tehran Grand Bazaar, one of the oldest, busiest, and most fascinating markets in the country. This Tehran food tour is filled with delicious Persian food, talented vendors, live music, unexpected careers, and inspiring stories from everyday life in Iran.We begin by showing you how to reach Tehran Grand Bazaar and find your way through its busy streets and entrances.
Our first stop is with the woman everyone calls the “Strawberry Lady.” She studied law, but her life took an unexpected turn and brought her to the Grand Bazaar. Today, she prepares colorful Choco Berry desserts made with strawberries, bananas, pineapple, chocolate, and other delicious ingredients. She also serves fresh natural juices to her customers.
As we continue exploring the market, we meet two talented young musicians performing a beautiful handpan duet.
Then we visit a dancer who also prepares and sells pasta at her street food cart. Her creamy pasta is incredibly popular, and she has many loyal customers. After tasting it, we understand exactly why people keep coming back!
Next, we meet a woman famous for her traditional kuku sabzi and kuku sibzamini, also known as Persian herb kuku and Persian potato kuku. She has worked in Tehran Grand Bazaar for six years, and her loyal customers say the quality of her food has remained just as good as it was on the first day.
We also visit a vendor who has been serving traditional Iranian sharbat in this market for 30 years.
Our final food stop is run by twin sisters who recently opened their own fast-food shop. Interestingly, both worked as hairstylists before entering the food business! We taste their special minced-meat sandwich and their delicious spicy Sosis Bandari sandwich.
At the end of the video, we take a relaxing walk through the alleys, shops, crowds, and hidden corners of Tehran Grand Bazaar to experience the atmosphere of this historic market.
Which food would you try first: Choco Berry, creamy street pasta, kuku sabzi, Persian potato kuku, Iranian sharbat, the special meat sandwich, or Sosis Bandari? Tell us in the comments!
