Filmde, köylü Fadime’nin şarkıcı Berkant’a kendini beğendirmek için geçirdiği değişim anlatılır. Birbirlerine âşık olan Fadime ve Memiş düşman aile çocuklarıdır. Aileler bu ilişkiye karşı çıkar. Köye, Berkant'ın sahne aldığı bir kumpanya gelir. Memiş ile babası kumpanyanın ardından İstanbul’a gelin aramaya gider. Fadime de şarkıcı olmak için evden kaçar. Şehirde Berkant’la karşılaşır ve hizmetçi olarak yanında kalmaya başlar. Zamanla Berkant’a âşık olur. Berkant'ın beğenisini kazanmak için dış görünümünü tamamen değiştirir. Afrodit olarak sahneye çıkmaya başlar. Berkant’ı kıskandırmak için de Memiş’i kullanır. Ancak hiçbir şey plânladığı gibi gitmeyecektir.
