President Donald Trump has now signed a bill ending a record 43-day government shutdown. The shutdown originally stemmed from a clash over healthcare funding between Democrats and Republicans. The legislation provides Fiscal Year 2025 funding to keep the government open through Jan. 30, 2026. The House vote on Wednesday evening was 222-209.House Democrats Oversight Committee has released emails involving Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein, including an email from Epstein himself, which says the President Trump has spent “hours” with a sex trafficking victim and that Trump quote “knew about the girls”. This comes as House Democrats have threatened to release all documents relating to the Epstein case, called the Epstein Files commonly.
