A Drone in 77mph Wind? Proving a Viral Photo Was AI

How can you tell if a photo is real or made with AI? When a storm photo of Whitehaven Lighthouse appeared on Facebook, photographer and drone pilot Dave Wilson suspected something wasn’t right. In this video, I show how he proved it, then I make two fakes from one of my own seascapes, one in Photoshop and one in ChatGPT. I put them through the free checks you can use yourself, including Content Credentials and SynthID, and explain what each result can and can’t tell you.
