US BASE NEXT TO INDIA? Trump & Japan Trap Bangladesh with ₹55,000 Crore for Bay of Bengal

Is America finally getting the Bay of Bengal foothold it has chased for decades? In the same week, a top US Army Pacific general met Bangladesh’s Army Chief in Dhaka while Japan, America’s closest ally in Asia, signed fresh deals with Bangladesh in Tokyo: up to ¥1 trillion (about ₹55,000 crore) in private investment, a patrol vessel and a new strategic “BIG-B” plan. Washington is pressing Dhaka to sign two defence pacts, GSOMIA and ACSA, that could open Bangladeshi ports and airfields to US military logistics.

After the Iran war damaged America’s Gulf bases and pushed its Navy back to distant Diego Garcia, the Bay of Bengal has become the “missing link” in US strategy. But this sea is India’s backyard. In this video, we decode what the US and Japan are really doing in Bangladesh, why Dhaka is playing both sides, and what it means for India’s national security.

In this video, Kinjal Choudhary explains:

How the Iran war exposed America’s logistics crisis and made Bangladesh more valuable
