Großeinsatz bei Oftersheim! Holzstapel und Böschung in Flammen – B291 voll gesperrt

Gegen 3.50 Uhr geriet im Bereich des Wingertsbuckels zunächst eine Böschung in Brand. Das Feuer breitete sich rasch aus und griff auf einen Holzstapel an der B291 über.

Die Feuerwehr Oftersheim war schnell vor Ort und begann mit der Brandbekämpfung. Zur Sicherstellung der Wasserversorgung richtete die Feuerwehr Schwetzingen einen Pendelverkehr mit Tanklöschfahrzeugen ein. Unterstützt wurden die Einsatzkräfte von einem Landwirt, der den brennenden Holzstapel mit einem Radlader auseinanderzog, damit die Glutnester gezielt gelöscht werden konnten.

Mehr als 20 Feuerwehrkräfte waren rund eineinhalb Stunden im Einsatz. Während der Löscharbeiten blieb die B291 voll gesperrt. Die Brandursache ist derzeit noch unklar.
