20 שנה אחרי שֶאִמוֹ נהרגה בהתרסקות מטוס שנפגע מטיל, פותח אילִיה את תיבת הפנדורה שנעל היטב.
ב-4 לאוקטובר 2001 עלתה אוקסנה זלצר, 38, על טיסה 1812 של סיביריה איירליינס מישראל לרוסיה לביקור משפחתי. טיל ארוך-טווח ששוגר לעבר מטוס הנוסעים גרם לו להתרסק בים השחור, וכל מי שהיה על הטיסה – כולל 51 אזרחים ישראליים - נספה.
בנה של אוקסנה, איליה, היה בן 13 כשבישרו לו על האסון. הוא לא זוכר כלום מאז.
20 שנה אחרי, כשהוא כבר נשוי ועומד להיות אבא, הוא מחליט לפתוח את תיבת הפנדורה שנעל היטב, ולשאול את השאלות הקשות: מי ירה את הטיל שגרם להתרסקות המטוס ומדוע? האם ההתעלמות בישראל מהאסון התעופה הגדול בתולדות המדינה נובעת מכך שרוב ההרוגים היו עולים חדשים? והאם יצליח להחזיר לעצמו את הזיכרון האבוד של אימו?
