Schnee bis zum Hals: Ferienort in italienischen Alpen eingeschneitEin massiver Wintereinbruch überrascht den Alpenort Macugnaga am Fuß des Monte Rosa. Über Nacht fallen außergewöhnliche Schneemengen. Am Morgen versinkt der Ferienort unter einer dicken weißen Decke, stellenweise türmen sich die Schneemassen auf mehr als anderthalb Meter. Autos sind eingeschneit, Bewohner müssen Wege und Eingänge freischaufeln. Meteorologen hatten deutlich weniger Neuschnee erwartet. Durch die extremen Mengen steigt in der Region auch die Lawinengefahr. Gleichzeitig liefern die Bilder aus dem italienischen Alpenort spektakuläre Eindrücke eines selten heftigen Wintereinbruchs.
