Sono state riconsegnate, all’interno di una teca, 56 delle 386 monete appartenenti al Medagliere del Museo Archeologico del Complesso Monumentale della Pilotta, trafugate nel 2016 ad opera di ignoti.
Dopo la denuncia del direttore del Museo, sono subito partire le indagini dei carabinieri, prima del Nucleo provinciale di Parma e successivamente del Nucleo Carabinieri per la Tutela del Patrimonio Culturale di Bologna. Alla presenza del direttore della Pilotta Stefano L’Occaso, del sindaco di Parma Michele Guerra e dell’ex direttore Simone Verde, il Tenente Colonnello Giuseppe De Gori ha illustrato i dettagli dell’operazione che ha portato al recupero delle monete: «La prima ad essere rinvenuta è un fiorino emesso dalla Zecca di Firenze nel 1284, individuata nel catalogo di una Casa d’Aste di San Marino. La moneta era stata rivenduta ad un collezionista milanese, ignaro del furto, a cui è stata sequestrata nel 2016 insieme ad un altro esemplare emesso dalla Zecca di Piacenza».
