Super Star Senior Episode 54 | 🎼 Joy, pathos, nostalgia- every note had a story
This episode opened with a captivating orchestra performance. They presented the song “Thaliraninjoru Kilimarathile…” from the movie Minnaram.The first performance of the Round: Songs of Joy was by Akshay. He rendered the beautiful Kalabhavan Mani classic “Kai Kottu Penney, Kai Kottu Penney…” from the movie Karumadikkuttan, composed by Mohan Sithara. Akshay delivered the song with great emotion and finesse, making it a truly delightful performance.
Parvathi invited our judges to share their personal music playlists. M. G. Sreekumar and Manjari shared their selections, giving us a glimpse into their musical world. It was a collection of truly beautiful playlists that added a special charm to the episode.
Then came the Pathos Round, where Rahul took the stage. He performed the timeless Johnson Master melody “Thoomanjin Nenjil Othungi…” from the movie Samooham, originally sung by K. J. Yesudas. Rahul rendered the song with deep emotion and soulfulness, leaving a lasting impression.
Next, we welcomed some special guests to the show for the Digital Media Award segment. The winner of the award was our guest KLBRO Biju Rithwik, one of the most followed YouTubers in Asia. They came onto the stage and shared their inspiring social media journey, offering insights into their growth and success in the digital space.
Finally, Keerthi delivered her performance. She sang the song “En Jeevane…” from the movie Devadoothan, originally sung by S. Janaki Amma, with music composed by Vidyasagar Sir.While the song itself is a beautiful classic, the judges pointed out that Keerthi’s rendition leaned more toward imitation of Janaki Amma’s style rather than presenting her own voice and interpretation. They felt this approach came across as unprofessional and encouraged her to develop a more original expression.
