Ia meyakini ormas tersebut dipersiapkan menjadi partai politik (parpol) ke depannya.
Namun, menurutnya jika hal tersebut terealisasi, maka 'Gerakan Rakyat' hanya akan bernasib menjadi parpol gurem.
Istilah parpol gurem merujuk pada parpol yang mendapatkan suara signifikan dalam pemilu, tetapi tidak cukup untuk mendapatkan kursi di parlemen.
Menanggapi hal tersebut, Ketua Umum DPP Gerakan Rakyat Sahrin Hamid mengatakan bila dilihat dari potensi suara dalam Pilpres 2024 lalu, Anies meraih sekitar 24,9 persen atau 40 juta suara.
Menurutnya, potensi tersebut sangat besar dalam konteks partai politik.
Akan tetapi menurutnya bagi Gerakan Rakyat saat ini hal yang terpenting adalah menata struktur organisasi.
Sehingga, lanjut dia, Gerakan Rakyat memiliki arah dan sistem agar capaian-capaiannya bisa relatif terukur.
Hal itu disampaikannya di sela-sela Rapimnas I Gerakan Rakyat di Hotel Arya Duta Jakarta pada Minggu (13/7/2025).
