Singgung Rusaknya Demokrasi karena Cawe-Cawe, Amien Rais: Biarlah Pak Prabowo Ambil Alih
Eks Ketua Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat (MPR) Amien Rais menilai demokrasi Indonesia kini telah rusak dan masuk jurang terdalam."Maaf ya, jadi semua mengatakan ada back sliding democracy, gelontor, bahkan ada yang mengatakan risk to the bottom gara-gara demokrasi yang rusak ini, semua lantas masuk ke jurang yang paling dalam," kata Amien Rais setelah menemui pimpinan MPR RI di kompleks parlemen, Senayan, Jakarta Pusat, Rabu (5/6/2024).
Pernyataan itu merujuk pada adanya sosok yang cawe-cawe dan mengambil alih demokrasi hningga 94%.
"Jadi saya pikir sudah waktunya goodbye, Sir, please go back to your asal-usul, kemudian nggak usah cawe-cawe lagi," tuturnya.
Ketua MPR periode 1999-2004 itu juga sempat meminta maaf karena maksud dulu melucuti kekuasaan lembaga tersebut untuk memilih presiden terkesan naif dan tidak relevan dengan keadaan sekarang.
"Sekarang saya minta maaf. Jadi dulu, itu kita mengatakan kalau dipilih langsung one man one vote, mana mungkin ada orang mau menyogok 120 juta pemilih, mana mungkin? Perlu puluhan mungkin ratusan triliun. Ternyata mungkin. Nah itu," imbuh Amien Rais.
Sehingga, dia mendukung adanya amandemen Undang-Undang Dasar (UUD) mengubah aturan pemilihan presiden kembali melalui MPR.
"Jadi sekarang kalau mau dikembalikan dipilih MPR, mengapa tidak? MPR kan orangnya berpikir, punya pertimbangan," jelas Ketua Majelis Syuro Partai Ummat ini.
