Israel mengaku heran mengapa drone tersebut bisa menembus sistem pertahanan dan tidak memicu alarm.
Dalam keterangan resminya, militer Israel (IDF) sedang menyelidiki dugaan kerusakan pada sistem.
Seharusnya, alarm langsung berbunyi jika ada objek asing yang memasuki kawasan.
Tidak adanya peringatan inilah yang diduga membuat Iron Dome gagal mencegat drone hingga melukai tentara.
Peristiwa ini berlangdung di Dataran Tinggi Golan yang dikuasai Israel pada Rabu (10/7/2024) malam.
Menurut pihak militer, ada tiga drone yang diluncurkan oleh militan Hizbullah.
Senjata itu menghantam area dekat persimpangan Beit Hamekhes di Israel utara.
Hizbullah juga mengaku telah bertanggung jawab atas serangan tersebut.
