La svolta nelle indagini sul ritrovamento delle due sorelline scomparse dalla casa famiglia di Civitella Alfedena è arrivata da «una videochiamata della mamma nei confronti di un numero di telefono che era attenzionato intestato a un pachistano, facente parte di un gruppo di schede clandestinamente attivate a Napoli un paio di giorni prima della scomparsa». Lo ha detto il procuratore della Repubblica di Sulmona, Luciano D'Angelo, in conferenza stampa «Tra i tanti difetti della mamma - ha aggiunto - c'era anche quello di mantenere il controllo. Non poteva rimanere giorni e giorni senza contattare le figlie».
