KOMPAS.TV - Wacana pemakzulan mencuat sejak April 2025 melalui deklarasi Forum Purnawirawan Prajurit TNI, yang terdiri dari ratusan purnawirawan (termasuk jenderal, laksamana, marsekal) dan mantan Wapres Try Sutrisno.

Surat pemakzulan resmi dikirim ke DPR oleh forum tersebut dalam bentuk surat yang kini sedang dikaji oleh Ketua DPR, Puan Maharani.

Selain itu, Wapres Gibran menyatakan kesediaan untuk menjalankan tugas di Papua dan siap “berkantor di mana saja” — entah di Jakarta, IKN, ataupun Papua, jika memang ada penugasan dari Presiden Prabowo Subianto.

Menteri Koordinator Bidang Hukum, HAM, Imigrasi, dan Pemasyarakatan, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, menegaskan bahwa Wapres Gibran tidak akan pindah kantor permanen ke Papua. Yang akan berada di sana hanyalah sekretariat dan staf Badan Khusus Percepatan Pembangunan Otsus Papua, bukan Wapres itu sendiri.
