Designer Michelle Berwick blends old and new in this heritage home built for seventh-generation farmers. “The soul of this project is rooted in family history and the heritage of the land they built the property on,” says Michelle. Original elements of the home are thoughtfully woven throughout the design, including wood salvaged from an old barn. At the heart of the home, the kitchen serves as a welcoming gathering space, complete with a generous pantry and a patterned porcelain tile backsplash that adds character. In the great room, pine beams and a mantel crafted from the original barn pair with stone that echoes the home’s exterior. A Muskoka-style room with sliding glass doors and a cosy fireplace offers sweeping views of the surrounding landscape.Design By Michelle Berwick
