Here's how to add an OP_RETURN output in Sparrow Wallet:

Start a new transaction
Go to the wallet's Send tab as you normally would when creating a transaction. You'll build the OP_RETURN output alongside your regular payment output(s).

Add a payment output
Enter the recipient address and amount for your actual payment, just like a normal send. This step is optional if you only want to embed data with no real payment — but most transactions still need at least one spending output.

Add an OP_RETURN output
Click the '+' icon to add another output/payment row. In the address field of this new row, type or select "OP_RETURN" instead of an address. Sparrow will switch the field into a data-entry mode.

Enter your data
Type the text or hex data you want embedded. Sparrow lets you toggle between ASCII/text and Hex input. Keep in mind OP_RETURN data is limited to 80 bytes by Bitcoin Core's standard relay policy (Knots nodes may enforce a different limit).

Set the amount to zero
The OP_RETURN output should have a value of 0 BTC — it's a provably unspendable output used only to carry data, not to hold funds.

Review fee and outputs
Check the transaction preview showing all outputs, including the OP_RETURN data payload, and confirm the fee rate is appropriate before proceeding.

Sign and broadcast
If using a hardware wallet like your Coldcard, export the PSBT, sign it on the device, then import the signed PSBT back into Sparrow and broadcast. Otherwise sign and broadcast directly from Sparrow.

A couple of notes worth flagging:

You need a Bitcoin balance to spend from — OP_RETURN is added as an extra output in a transaction that spends your existing UTXOs, so you'll pay a mining fee for it like any other transaction.
Data is permanent and public on the blockchain once confirmed — don't embed anything sensitive or something you can't legally distribute.
Since you run a Knots node, be aware Knots enforces stricter relay filtering on OP_RETURN/data-carrying outputs than Bitcoin Core does by default, which is relevant if you're relying on your own node for relay/mempool acceptance rather than just broadcasting through Sparrow's connected server.
