Mauvaise hygiène, odeurs pestilentielles et des rues où l'on déverse ses eaux sales : l'image peu reluisante du Moyen-Âge est bien ancrée dans notre mémoire culturelle. Mais qu'en était-il réellement de l'hygiène à l'époque ? Si nous mesurons la propreté d'une époque à ses déchets, ne vivons-nous pas aujourd'hui dans l'époque la plus sale de toutes ?
