Già nel 2021 la Corte dei Conti europea stilava un rapporto di 80 pagine sulla corruzione in Ucraina: "Gli oligarchi e gli interessi costituiti sono le cause più profonde di tale corruzione". A distanza di 4 anni, scoppia il caso tangenti. L'operazione Midas, avviata dal NABU, riguarda un presunto giro di tangenti di circa 86 milioni di euro provenienti da contratti del settore energetico. Al centro dello scandalo c'è Tymur Mindich, imprenditore vicino al presidente ucraino, cofondatore della Kvartal 95, la casa di produzione da cui arriva Zelensky. Le autorità dell'anticorruzione lo accusano di aver creato un sistema di tangenti nel 10-15% circa di ogni contratto. Sono state perquisite le proprietà di persone vicine a Mindich e hanno scoperto borse di contanti e...un water d'oro. #Zelensky ad ora risulta non coinvolto direttamente nella gestione dei fondi in questione, ma la vicenda ha assunto, prevedibilmente, un significato emblematico, anche grazie al gabinetto.
