On 23 October, India’s agencies hit a cross-border narco network at 38 locations across Assam, Mizoram and Manipur in one day. Home Minister Amit Shah says this network ran drugs across the India, Myanmar and Bangladesh borders through what he called the “Death Triangle Corridor.” Operation Trident exposed ₹100 crore of hawala, froze 1,424 bank accounts and seized 500 detonators. Why does a drug network need detonators? And how deep inside India’s banking system did this corridor run?

In this video, Kinjal Choudhary explains:

What Operation Trident is: the raids, arrests, seizures and frozen accounts
What the “Death Triangle Corridor” is and how it differs from the Golden Triangle
Who is allegedly behind the Myanmar–Bangladesh drug pipeline
How traffickers move drugs from Chin State into Mizoram and Manipur, and out to Bangladesh
Why 500 detonators turn a drug bust into a national security story
How drug money and hawala fund insurgency and narco-terror
The CIA and ISI drug-money history: what is proven and what is only alleged
The Free Movement Regime, border fencing and the Myanmar civil war
India’s mission to make the country drug-free by 31 December 2029

Key facts:

38 locations raided across 3 states on 23 October 2026
18 arrested
₹100 crore hawala exposed
1,424 bank accounts frozen
₹17.82 crore of assets attached
500 detonators and ₹12 lakh cash seized

Useful for UPSC GS Paper 3 (Internal Security, Border Management, Drug Trafficking) and GS Paper 2 (India’s Neighbourhood: Myanmar and Bangladesh).
