TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Goa Lawa Purbalingga atau Golaga merupakan tempat wisata alam yang wajib dikunjungi di Purbalingga.

Tempat wisata di Desa Siwarak, Kecamatan Karangreja, ini tak hanya menyuguhkan keindahan gua yang alami dan cantik tetapi juga sejarah menarik.

Menurut Suwandi, Supervisor Golaga Purbalingga mengungkapkan, eksplorasi gua tersebut dilakukan pertama kali pada 1978.

Mulanya, warga di sekitar obyek wisata ini mengetahui keberadaan gua namun Belum ada yang berani menelusurinya.

"Namun, karena merasa penasaran dan menurut informasi terdapat banyak lorong-lorong atau gua, Pemerintah Daerah saat itu akhirnya melakukan survei untuk meneliti, dan akhirnya jadilah obyek wisata ini," ungkap Suwandi kepada Tribunbanyumas.com, Jumat (27/6/2025).

Obyek wisata ini pertama kali dibuka dan diresmikan pada tahun 1979 oleh Bupati Goentoer Darjono.

Saat ini, obyek wisata Golaga telah dikelola dan menjadi bagian dari unit usaha Perumda Owabong.
