Pegi Setiawan dinyatakan bebas usai menangkan gugatan praperadilan terkait kasus pembunuhan Vina Cirebon, di Pengadilan Negeri Bandung, Jawa Barat.

Hakim Eman Sulaeman selaku hakim tunggal, dalam putusannya menyatakan sejumlah pertimbangan atas perkara tersebut. Hakim menilai Polda Jabar tidak melakukan pemeriksaan sesuai prosedur.

Sebelumnya, kasus pembunuhan Vina Cirebon yang terjadi pada 2016 silam kembali ramai dan menjadi sorotan publik setelah tayangnya film "Vina: Sebelum 7 Hari".

Netizen ramai memperbincangkan kasus pembunuhan Vina dan mendesak polisi untuk mengejar pelaku yang belum tertangkap.

Pegi Setiawan pun ditangkap pada 21 Mei 2024, sebagai tersangka otak pembunuhan Vina.

Netizen kembali menyoroti pernyataan Pegi saat konferensi pers yang mengatakan "Saya tidak pernah melakukan pembunuhan itu. Ini fitnah. Saya rela mati".
