Kementerian Ketenagakerjaan RI mencatat sejak Januari hingga Juni 2025, jumlah pekerja yang menjadi korban PHK mencapai 42.385 orang. PHK tidak sekadar membuat buruh kehilangan pekerjaan, PHK juga merontokkan sendi-sendi perekonomian para buruh. Mereka berpotensi jadi penduduk miskin jika tak mendapatkan hak-hak ketenagakerjaan mereka seperti pesangon dan jaminan kehilangan pekerjaan.Presiden Prabowo berencana membentuk satgas PHK termasuk membentuk Dewan Kesejahteraan Buruh Nasional untuk persoalan ketenagakerjaan di Indonesia. Di sisi lain, Mahkamah Konstitusi meminta Pemerintah dan DPR membentuk Undang-Undang Ketenagakerjaan yang baru paling lambat Oktober 2026 usai dikeluarkan dari UU Cipta Kerja.
Undang-Undang Ketenagakerjaan yang baru diharap bisa menjadi asa bagi para buruh, agar mereka tak mudah kehilangan hak-hak mereka.
