Balochistan violence has escalated sharply as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claims that 25 Pakistani military personnel were killed in two separate attacks, while Pakistan’s military says security forces killed 48 militants in counter-terror operations across the province.
The BLA claims its fighters ambushed a Pakistani military convoy near Ziarat Cross, killing 18 personnel and destroying military vehicles. It also claimed responsibility for a separate attack in the Hajika area of Surab, where seven Pakistani personnel were allegedly killed in a vehicle-borne explosive attack. The BLA has also released video footage purportedly showing the aftermath of the Ziarat Cross attack. These casualty claims have not been independently verified.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army says 48 militants were killed during intelligence-based operations in Mastung, Quetta, Kalat and Sibi over roughly 48–72 hours. Pakistan's military said the operations targeted members of outlawed militant groups including the BLA and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
