Syrian army secures Aleppo neighbourhood after SDF withdrawal
The governor of Aleppo says Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces fighters have withdrawn under a fragile ceasefire.At least 30 people were killed and more than 150,000 displaced during five days of intense fighting.
Syrian government forces now control the Kurdish-majority Sheikh Maqsoud neighbourhood, but tensions persist.
Officials say SDF fighters and families were evacuated to areas under SDF control in northern Syria.
Residents reported relief after days of shelling, while aid groups assisted the injured and displaced.
Bernard Smith reports that mistrust remains, with the SDF rejecting integration with government forces.
