Das sächsische Dorf Jößnitz ist ein Ortsteil der Stadt Plauen, ca. 2300 Leute leben hier. Und das nicht schlecht: es gibt eine Kita, eine Grundschule mit Hort und drei Seniorenheime. Auch für den Besuch von Zahnarzt, Friseur oder Autowerkstatt müssen sie nicht das Dorf verlassen. Und weil auch gesellschaftlich viel los ist, hatten die Vogtländer beim aktuellen Wettbewerb "Unser Dorf hat Zukunft" mitgemacht. Gewonnen haben andere.In Jößnitz beginnen sie gerade mit den Vorbereitungen auf die Adventszeit: da wird auf dem Dorfplatz die Pyramide, die hier Drehbaum heißt, aufgestellt und auch mit einem kleinen Fest "angeschoben", wie das in einigen Landesteilen von Sachsen so üblich ist. Da werden in der Gärtnerei auch die Weihnachtssterne zurechtgerückt, der Intarsienkünstler und die Kinder der Schul-Keramik-AG fertigen Weihnachtsgeschenke an und im denkmalgeschützten Haus Ilse wird der Jahreszeit entsprechend geschmückt.
Die SG Jößnitz ist der größte Sportverein im Vogtland, dazu gehören auch die Fitness-Sportler. Und wie das Badehäuschen und der ehemalige Bahnhof als Treffpunkt für alle immer schöner gemacht werden, zeigt due Reportage aus Jößnitz. Sogar ein Flashback-Symposium mit Gästen, bei dem es um Retro-Computer wie Atari und Commodore geht, wird im Dorf Jößnitz ausgerichtet.
