甲鉄艦『煉獄』の甲板で戦いを繰り広げる剣心と蒼紫。その裏で乗船に成功した左之助は、津南から渡された炸裂弾で機関室を爆破しようとする。しかし、方治、周三、藤四郎ら志々雄の部下たちが行く手を阻む。一方、京都では警官隊が撤退する猶予を稼ぐため、荒戸が一人で鎌足と蝙也に立ち向かう……。
