SITUBONDO, KOMPAS.TV - Seorang polisi di Situbondo, Jawa Timur, meluangkan waktu liburnya untuk memberi pelatihan ternak lele bagi pemuda di lingkungan rumahnya.
Peternakan lele di wilayah Situbondo, Jawa Timur, bukan sedang disidak oleh polisi, melainkan memang sedang dirawat oleh AKP Teguh Santoso.
Peternakan lele ini memang milik AKP Teguh, yang dibuka di pekarangan rumahnya.
Terdapat empat petak kolam berisi 10.000 bibit lele, dengan modal pribadinya yang dikeluarkan sebesar sepuluh juta rupiah.
Usaha ini dirintis sejak tahun 2024 dengan tekad untuk memanfaatkan lahan kosong, sekaligus membangun swasembada pangan dan membuka lapangan pekerjaan.
Setiap bulan, puluhan pemuda datang bergantian untuk belajar langsung dari AKP Teguh, mengenal cara beternak, mengelola air, hingga mengatur pakan. Sejumlah pemuda sudah berhasil mengikuti jejaknya, menjadi petani lele mandiri dan berdaya.
Tak hanya memberi peluang usaha bagi pemuda di sekitar rumahnya, AKP Teguh Santoso juga sebenarnya masih aktif bekerja sebagai anggota Polri yang kini mengemban tugas sebagai Kapolsek Kapongan.
Sehingga ia mempekerjakan empat pemuda yang bertugas untuk mengelola kolam, sehingga tak mengganggu tugas sehari-harinya sebagai polisi.
Salah satu pemuda yang ikut belajar beternak lele menyebut bahwa ia beruntung mendapatkan ilmu untuk nantinya diaplikasikan guna membuka usaha yang sama.
AKP Teguh menyebut, memberi pelatihan ternak lele dan memberi peluang usaha bagi pemuda menjadi salah satu bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat.
