Delapan penumpang dilaporkan meninggal dunia akibat insiden tersebut.
Kecelakaan maut ini terjadi saat bus dalam perjalanan berlibur dari Gunung Bromo, Minggu (14/9/2025).
Bus mengalami rem blong saat melaju di jalan turunan Jalan Raya Sukapura, Desa Boto, Lumbang, Probolinggo, Jawa Timur.
Hal ini diungkapkan oleh Direktur RS Bina Sehat, Faida.
“Mereka infonya turun dari Gunung Bromo setelah tasyakuran kelulusan S1,” ungkap mantan Bupati Jember itu.
Saat melewati tikungan jalan turunan, bus tiba-tiba lepas kendali.
Setelahnya, bus menubruk pagar rumah warga hingga badan bus ringsek.
Ia menduga, saat kejadian bus mengalami rem blong.
Faida menyebutkan, tujuh orang tewas di tempat dan satu orang meninggal di rumah sakit.
Satu korban tersebut menurut Faida identitasnya belum berhasil diidentifikasi.
"Ada tujuh orang yang meninggal di lokasi kejadian, namun satu jenazah belum berhasil kami identifikasi," katanya.
Sementara, 47 korban lainnya kritis dan dalam perawatan di sejumlah fasilitas kesehatan.
Menurut informasi, 55 penumpang tersebut berwisata sebagai bentuk tasyakuran kelulusan S1.
"Ada tujuh orang yang meninggal di lokasi kejadian, namun satu jenazah belum berhasil kami identifikasi," katanya.
