Di antara yang langsung ia tunjukkan adalah Gulaja: gula merah yang diolah dari air nira pohon sawit.
Sebagaimana diketahui, Provinsi Jambi termasuk salah satu daerah penghasil kelapa sawit di Indonesia.
Berdasarkan data Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Jambi pada tahun 2023, luas area perkebunan sawit di Jambi mencapai hampir 1,2 juta hektarE dan menghasilkan lebih dari 2,7 juta ton minyak kelapa sawit (CPO).
Melihat potensi tersebut, Bunda Rina pemilik Rumah Kreatif Nek No berhasil mengubah limbah pohon sawit yang sudah tidak produktif menjadi produk bernilai ekonomi tinggi.
Produk unggulannya ia beri nama Gulaja: gula merah asli Jambi yang diolah dari air nira pohon sawit.
Menariknya, bahan baku yang ia gunakan justru berasal dari pohon sawit tua berusia di atas 20 tahun yang umumnya dianggap tidak produktif lagi.
"Mungkin tergolong limbah, tapi limbahnya luar biasa menjadi produk yang inovatif," ujarnya.
Rina mengungkapkan rasa Gulaja tidak terlalu berbeda dengan gula merah dari kelapa.
Namun, ia mengatakan Gulaja lebih legit.
"Sebenarnya tidak terlalu jauh dengan gula merah dari kelapa karena satu marga, hanya beda dari sisi produksi," sebutnya, belum lama ini.
Tidak hanya menghasilkan gula merah, Rumah Kreatif Nek No juga mengembangkan produk turunan lain dari kelapa sawit, seperti cokelat sawit, kopi gula sawit, hingga berbagai olahan pangan lainnya.
