Download aplikasi berita TribunX di Play Store atau App Store untuk dapatkan pengalaman baruTRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) telah menetapkan aturan untuk memayungi proses Pilkada 2024 melalui Peraturan KPU (PKPU) 8/2024 tentang Pencalonan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur, Bupati dan Wakil Bupati, Serta Walikota dan Wakil Walikota.
Dalam Pasal 15 PKPU 8/2024, KPU resmi mengatur syarat usia paling rendah 30 tahun untuk calon gubernur dan 25 tahun untuk calon wakil gubernur terhitung sejak dilantik sebagai pasangan calon terpilih.
Saat tahapan Pilkada 2024 sudah berjalan, PKPU untuk mewadahi proses pemilihan masih dalam tahap harmonisasi antara KPU dengan pemerintah dan DPR selaku pembentuk Undang-Undang (UU).
KPU sebelumnya masih menggunakan PKPU terdahulu dalam acuan ukuran proses tahapan pilkada termasuk batas minimal usia pasangan calon saat pendaftaran.
Kemudian pada 30 Mei 2024, MA mengabulkan permohonan Partai Garuda terkait aturan syarat batas minimal usia calon kepala daerah.
Hal tersebut ditegaskan MA melalui Putusan Nomor 23 P/HUM/2024 yang diputus pada Rabu (29/5/2024).
