Ci stiamo abituando a un mondo dove i problemi si risolvono con le bombe e non più con la diplomazia: tutto questo porta ulteriore incertezza in una terra già disordinata, e lo abbiamo imparato a nostre spese. Dopo i bombardamenti sull’Iran e la reazione di Teheran, petrolio e gas sono balzati verso l’alto. Le borse hanno frenato, eppure non così tanto come ci si sarebbe potuto aspettare. Dobbiamo smettere quindi di preoccuparci? Tutt’altro: si stanno creando nuovi equilibri mondiali e non solo a colpi di bombe. Gli Stati Uniti sono diventati i primi produttori mondiali di gas e petrolio. I rischi quindi che il petrolio balzi fino a cento dollari dai minimi di poco più della metà delle scorse settimane ci sono, ma rispetto alla grande crisi del 1973 c’è uno straordinario riequilibrio nella produzione delle fonti energetiche. Non solo, un tempo c’erano i grandi speculatori che da soli erano in grado di muovere i mercati, ma la tecnologia ha reso le borse tutte più interconnesse. Molte delle compravendite sono automatizzate con meccanismi che si autocontrollano. Continuiamo a dirci che il mondo è cambiato, ebbene lo stiamo vedendo.
