Sebagai gubernur Sulawesi Tengah, telah diluncurkan program-program pro rakyat seperti berani cerdas untuk beasiswa pendidikan, berani sehat untuk layanan berobat gratis dengan KTP. Berani panen raya untuk mendorong sektor perikanan dan pertanian sebagai tulang punggung ekonomi daerah.
DI balik langkah pembangunan, ada juga keprihatinan besar terhadap dampak lingkungan dari aktivitas pertambangan, dan berbagai konflik agraria yang harus diselesaikan.
