Pernyataan itu ia sampaikan pada Sabtu (21/6/2025) hari ini.
Komandan veteran Iran yang tewas itu adalah Saeed Izadi, yang memimpin Korps Palestina dari Pasukan Quds, sayap luar negeri Garda Revolusi Iran.
Menurutnya, Izadi tewas dalam serangan di sebuah apartemen di Kota Qom, Iran.
Katz mengaku pembunuhan komandan veteran Iran itu sebagai pencapaian besar bagi intelijen Israel dan Angkatan Udara.
Pasalnya Izadi diketahui memiliki peran besar dalam mempersenjatai militan Palestina Hamas dalam serangan 7 Oktober 2023 lalu.
Namun pernyataan yang diberikan militer Israel tersebut belum dikonfirmasi sama sekali oleh Iran.
Dalam sebuah pernyataan, Garda Revolusi Islam (IRGC) Iran menyatakan ada lima orang yang tewas dalam serangan di Khorramabad, Iran.
Mereka tidak menyebut nama Izadi sebagai korban dalam serangan Israel.
Menurut Iran, hanya ada satu orang yang tewas dalam serangan pada sebuah gedung di Qom, yaitu remaja berusia 16 tahun dan dua orang yang terluka.
