Waldbrand nahe Hockenheimring – Feuerwehr verhindert größere Ausbreitung
Hockenheim: Am Samstagnachmittag gegen 15:00 Uhr wurde der Integrierten Leitstelle des Rhein-Neckar-Kreises eine starke Rauchentwicklung aus einem Waldgebiet in der Nähe des Hockenheimrings gemeldet. Bereits bei der ersten Überprüfung stellten die Einsatzkräfte fest, dass Teile des Waldstücks zwischen dem Hockenheimring und der B291 in Brand geraten waren.Rund 100 Feuerwehrleuten aus sieben Wehren gelang es, das Feuer innerhalb von etwa zweieinhalb Stunden einzudämmen und vollständig zu löschen. Unterstützt wurden sie dabei unter anderem durch den Einsatz einer Drohne zur Luftüberwachung des Brandgeschehens.
Für die angrenzenden Wohngebiete bestand zu keiner Zeit eine Gefahr. Auch der Rennbetrieb auf dem Hockenheimring konnte ohne Unterbrechung fortgeführt werden.
Zur Verhinderung eines erneuten Aufflammens wurden im Anschluss sogenannte Kreisregner installiert, die das Gebiet über Nacht bewässerten.
Rund 1,5 Hektar Waldfläche wurden durch das Feuer beschädigt. Die Ermittlungen zur Brandursache führt derzeit das Polizeirevier Hockenheim. Receive SMS online on sms24.me
