ESKALATION IN NAHOST - ANGRIFF AUF IRAN: „Israel macht den Job, den Europa nicht in der Lage ist zu tun“Remko Leemhuis, Direktor des American Jewish Committee in Berlin, kritisiert die Bundesregierung und Europa für ihre schwache Reaktion auf den Iran-Israel-Konflikt. Er warnt vor asymmetrischen Angriffen Teherans, die jüdische und israelische Einrichtungen in Europa bedrohen. Während Israel militärisch auf das iranische Atomprogramm reagiert, sei der Westen nicht bereit, die Konsequenzen zu tragen. Leemhuis fordert klare Signale nach Teheran – auch zur Abschreckung möglicher Terroranschläge. Die jüdische Community in Deutschland stehe unter massivem Druck, Sicherheitsmaßnahmen seien verschärft. Der diplomatische Weg mit dem Iran sei laut Leemhuis gescheitert.
